| Summary A play set between 1901 and 1913 about life in Grover's Corners, New Hampshire - a small, rural, out-of-the-way fictional town. Life is pretty much the same for small towns in America. There is no apparent threat of global conflict or war. Our Town is not offered as a picture of life in a New Hampshire village; or as a speculation about the conditions of life after death (that element I merely took from Dantes Purgatory). It is an attempt to find a value above all price for the smallest events in our daily life" (Thornton Wilder).
